Odeon Cinema

Project: 5500m2 refurb to remove existing profiled metal roof, insulation, support grid and VCL and replace with new insulation and the aluminium Kalzip system with curved roof sheets over 53m long.

Evron Wharf

Project: KGM installed the striking roof design on three buildings containing 182 luxury apartments overlooking the river Lea. The vertical installation of Kalzip standing seam secret fix aluminium roof cladding system was a first for KGM.

First Street North

Project: New build project in the acclaimed regenerated southern gateway. A £500m project including the 4-star 11-storey Innside hotel and 1,500m2 roof area. The Fatra UK singly ply membrane was fixed using SFS's revolutionary isoweld® induction welding system, providing economic installation costs and mechanical fixings to handle higher wind loads.

Longleat Forest Centre Parcs

Location: Longleat Forest, England

Products Supplied: TDA-S, TDB-S and TDB, A5 grade self tappers (EN 1.4547), aluminium peel rivets for the swimming pool roof.

Project: Finalist in the UK Roofing Awards 2016. SFS worked closely with Delomac to develop a compliant specification incorporating corrosion-resistant A5 grade stainless steel fasteners, aluminium peel rivets and robust sealant strips. SFS provided site-based testing, plus an excellent supply service throughout the contract.

Ice Arena

Project: SFS supplied a fastening system to suit a modified build up of a Vieo application from Euroclad which included the addition of 2 layers of a Gypsum based board onto a bar & brack system prior to the Euroclad Vieo external finish.

Parsons Tower

Project: Zinc and copper cladding fixed to various composite panels required a low profile, high grade stainless steel solution with excellent pull out values. The solution was the SX2/8-D9 in A4 316 austentic stainless steel self drilling fastener, giving excellent pull out values and reducing over driving due to the thread design.

Roof Solution: The Isotak TIA adjustable fastener system was used due to reduce fastener and sleeve combinations by 50% and significantly reduce drilling times.

City South Business Park

Project: Sarnafil's single ply roofing system was specified for the refurbishment of the University of Aberdeen's Meston Building, originally designed by Sir Robert Robinson in 1952. The refurbishment required a 40 year warranty for the 2,000m2 roof and was completed in stages to ensure the building could still be used. Other University buildings, such as The Hub, the two libraries, the School of Education's MacRobert Building, the Cruickshank and the Powarth Buildings also feature Sarnafil roofs that complement the University's 1930s aesthetics.

Olympic Stadium - Velodrome

Project: The award-winning, double-curving, structure designed to reflect the shape of the cycling track is one of the most sustainable buildings of its kind. Made possible using SFS fasteners, the complex cable net roof structure is the first of its kind, incorporating 13,000 sqm of aluminium metal standing seam, eight 100 m long roof lights, 420 lm of bullnose to the perimeter and 22 movement joints.

Gatwick First Point

Project: 2,000m2 roof area refurbishment project with concrete deck. Overlay of existing membrane with wet Rockwool insulation underneath TI-S-Z10 stainless steel fasteners. Sarnafil S327 PVC membrane.

Crewe Life Centre

Project: 1,800m2 roof area with one roof in steel accoustic deck and the second roof in concrete deck. Vapour control layer, foil faced PIR insulation, 1120mm ICOPAL Monarplan FM 1,5mm membrane. SFS supported contractors with training, wind load calculations, fastener positioning, regular site presence, QA testing of samples, hire of isoweld 3000 machines, tooling, power regulators and cables.

Warrington Bridge Street Car Park

Project: Part of the £107m Bridge Street Quarter Regeneration Scheme, the Bridge Street Car Park is a 1,169 space multi-storey car park. Horbury Façades' team installed a rain screen backing rail system to stepped light steel vertical cassette panels and then installed individually coloured terracotta tiles to meet Leach Rhodes Walker Architect’s design specification and colour aspirations.
